SMTP Authentication Security Setup
Netscape Communicator 4.x - Mac/Windows

Please note: Previously setup email accounts need only double check these instructions to be sure the information appears as in the images below. No additional steps are required for SMTP Authorization.

To setup a New email account with SMTP Authentication Security, please review support for Configuring Your E-Mail Account.

1. Launch your Netscape Communicator program
2. Go to the "Edit" menu - select "Preferences"
3. Click on "Mail & Newsgroups" on left panel to expand the menu
4. Click on "Mail Servers" on left panel
5. Check if "Outgoing Mail SMTP Server" lists "mail.altitude800.com" or "mail.yourdomain.com" as shown below. If it refers to another mail server name, do NOT continue, this does not apply to you. If it does apply to you, go to Step 6

Eudora 5 Mac/WIN
6. Click on "mail.altitude800.com" listing in the top box of "Incoming Mail Servers", then click "Edit" button

7. The Incoming Mail Server Properties window will appear. Change this information to read as shown, using, of course, your email account substituting "%" for "@" in the user name field.

8. Verify that the "Outgoing mail server user name" below matches the "Incoming mail server user name" (just as you typed in the above Incoming Mail Server Properties window). This information should read as shown, also using your email account substituting "%" for "@" in the user name field.

9. Click "OK" to save the changes and send a test e-mail message to yourself. Use the same password as when you login to get mail.
