SMTP Authentication Security Setup
Outlook 98/2000 - Outlook Express Windows
Please note: Previously setup email accounts need only follow these instructions and make the change(s) highlighted in the image below. To setup a new email account with SMTP Authentication Security, please first review support for Configuring Your E-Mail Account.

1. Launch your Outlook 98/2000 or Outlook Express mail program
2. Go to the "Tools" menu - select "Accounts"
3. Click on the account you wish to change - select "Properties"

4. Check if the "Outgoing Mail (SMTP)" box lists "mail.altitude800.com" or "mail.yourdomain.com" as shown below. If it refers to another mail server name, do NOT continue, this does not apply to you. If it does apply to you, go to Step 5
5. Check the "SMTP server requires authentication" box at the bottom left

6. Click "Apply" then "OK" to save changes
7. Repeat process for other accounts listed
8. Send a test e-mail message to yourself. Use the same password as when you login to get mail.
